The manor houses of Binissalem are a reflection of the feudal legacy that has defined the history of the municipality since the 13th century. After the Conquest of 1229, the lands of Binissalem came under the rule of various cavalries, feudal territories subject to dominical rights and civil jurisdiction. The cavalries of Morneta, the most extensive, extended from the village to Lloseta, being the property of the Torrellas from 1282 until the 18th century. Other important ones were those of the Dones de Jonqueres, of monastic origin, and Bau\u00e7ana, which belonged to the Chapter of the Cathedral until the 19th century. These possessions, some of which were sold on an emphyteusis, gave rise to the majestic estates that are known today as possessions. Visiting these estates is to delve into the rich noble history of Binissalem and appreciate the cultural heritage that still endures in its landscapes and architecture. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The possession offers an invaluable insight into Mallorca's medieval past and is a testament to the continuous use and renovation of historical structures over the centuries. Eight hundred years of history contemplated in this possession. \nThe Morneta estate in Binissalem stands out for its imposing monumental structure from the 17th century. With exposed stone facades, it has long walls, round portals and flat arches. This architectural treasure features various motifs painted in red almagre, including inscriptions in Arabic, Gothic and Latin characters. The tiles, dated 1541 and 1668, reveal the interventions over the centuries, as details such as Arabic inscriptions evoking praises to Allah can be seen. Its 17th-century facade, with a linteled doorway and a balustraded window, complements the historical appeal of the place. The main entrance is adorned with a lowered arch. Inside, the courtyard and staircase leading to the lords' residence reflect the traditional design of Mallorcan stately homes. Of the Torre de Can Marc, it is worth noting that the roofs<\/strong> of the house are ribbed vaults with sculptural ornamentation on the keystones, as well as its oil press.<\/p>

Can Maci\u00e0 and Can Pere-Antoni are two constructions from the Son Gorra division, which have undergone changes due to actions carried out during the 19th and 20th centuries.<\/p>

In the southern part of the municipality of Binissalem, we also find the Son Roig manor house<\/span> , which preserves a traditional entrance, while Sa Cabana d’en Ferrer<\/strong> has an atypical facade and several oenological elements that remind us that we are in an area with a winemaking tradition.<\/p>
