In the town of Binissalem, Ca na Gori stands out as a historic butcher’s shop with more than 150 years of history. The business, founded in 1870 by Toni Martí, the current owners’ great-great-grandfather, began at the Quartera market. Its commitment from the outset laid the foundations for Ca na Gori to become a leading name in Mallorca’s meat trade. During the 1960s, the business moved to the family premises, and in 1956 it established itself on Carrer de la Concepció.
The butcher’s shop is known for its distinctive stone façade, a symbol of Binissalem’s town centre. In addition, Binissalem’s historic centre was designated a Historic-Artistic Site in 1983 and later an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC). This reflects the business’s commitment to preserving local heritage.
Today, Toni and Margalida Martí, the fourth generation of the family, run Ca na Gori and keep the tradition alive. They specialise in fresh meat and traditional pig slaughter and offer typical Mallorcan cured meat products such as sobrassada, camaiot and botifarró. At Christmas, they also prepare traditional stuffings.
A visit to Ca na Gori is an immersion in Mallorca’s meat traditions, an authentic experience and a reflection of the spirit of Binissalem.
